Police nab 2 suspected rapists

Charlyn Bayo Teves, 27 years old, appeared at the police station to report that she was mauled by her live-in partner, Jojie Cervo Constantino at about 12:45 in the afternoon, last April 23. The police responded and 15 minutes later arrested the suspect. Upon checking the records, the police found out that the suspect have 2 standing warrant of arrest and ranked number 2 in the Top Most Wanted Persons of the municipal police station. The warrant of arrest was for the crime of “Statutory Rape”, issued by Hon. Judge Tomas C. Leynes, RTC Branch 40, Calapan City, dated August 6, 2015 with no recommended bail bond and another warrant of arrest for the crime of “Acts of Lasciviousness”, issued by Hon. Judge Edgardo M. Padilla, First Municipal Circuit Trial Court, dated September 17, 2015 with bail bond amounting 12,000 pesos. The police led by Police Chief Inspector Lawrence Panganiban arrested another suspected rapist last May 4 at Ponderosa, barangay San Isidro. Stephen Maranan, a 20 years, single and employed as a construction worker had been on the wanted person list since last March 31, 2017 when Hon.Judge Edralin Reyes of RTC Branch 39, Calapan City issued the warrant of arrest after being convinced that there was more than probable cause against the suspect to be charged with rape.
